Stubbs Recognized by SJMH Dr. Bruce Stubbs was recognized by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for “Excellence in the Section of Orthopedics” and his 41 years of affiliation with the hospital. Dr. Stubbs resigned his surgical privileges in January but continues to see patients in OSA’s Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti office. |

OSA Welcomes Trauma Specialist Dr. David Weiss, OSA's Trauma Specialist, joined the OSA staff in the fall of 2005. Dr. Weiss is a native of Silver Springs, MD, and recently completed the prestigious Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He brings specific expertise in the areas of orthopedic trauma and the care of complex fractures. Dr. Weiss graduated with a BA in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) and received both his MS in Physiology and MD from Georgetown University (Washington, DC). He completed his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Weiss also served as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force and was the Chief of Aerospace Medicine at McConnell Air Force Base (Wichita, KS). |

OSA Supports High School Athletics OSA specialists are the team physicians for Brighton High School, Saline High School, and Plymouth/Canton/Salem High Schools, providing coverage for high injury sports like football and basketball. IHA & OSA Team Up to Provide Physicals for Brighton Children Integrated Health Associates (IHA) and OSA joined together to perform screening sports physicals for kids in the Brighton area. 240 area children, ranging in age from 10 to 18, showed up for the physicals at Brighton High School. |

Golf Outing Raises Money for Canton HS OSA sponsored a golf outing at Fox Hills Country Club in Plymouth, MI to raise money for the Canton HS football team. Dr. Brian Borden serves as their team physician. |

OSA Donates AEDs to Local High Schools Two cash-strapped schools, Brighton High School and Fowlerville High School, each received an automated external defibrillator (AED) courtesy of Orthopedic Surgery Associates. AEDs are small, lightweight, easy-to-use units that provide an electrical shock to the heart of a person in sudden cardiac arrest. Dr Sean Adelman is the team physician for Brighton High School. |
