Dr. David H. Janda
Dr. David Janda is a native of Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University. He then graduated from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed an internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr Janda has also completed a shoulder fellowship at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada under the direction of Richard J. Hawkins, M.D. He became certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1992. Dr. Janda was elected to the American Shoulder and Elbow Society in 1998, a group comprised of 120 members worldwide. He is a Clinical Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Janda is a member of the Washtenaw County Medical Society, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Michigan Orthopaedic Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Janda is founder and director of The Institute for Preventative Sports Medicine in Ann Arbor, MI. He is widely published in the field of sports medicine and has been interviewed regarding sport injury prevention by many national publications and news programs. He is Chairman of the Governor's Committee on Sports Injury and Prevention in Michigan. He has also served on several federal committees including the Federal Advisory Board, the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, Atlanta, Georgia, and the National Institute of Health Trauma Research Task Force. He has lectured throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
Dr. Janda's special interests are pathologic shoulder conditions and sports medicine.
